Book About the Unique Heritage of Ancient Anau

At a sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, held on March 23 of the current year, the respected President presented his new book entitled Änew – münýyllyklardan gözbaş alýan medeniýet. This joyful news filled the hearts of the people of Turkmenistan with pride, because each new work of the respected President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag increasingly elevates the international authority of our sacred Motherland and exalts the glory of the diligent Turkmen people. As the head of state noted, the creation of the new book had been facilitated by information from historical sources collected by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who had managed to work with famous scientists and their descendants, to organise trips of archaeologists to different parts of the country and in general to carry out activities related to excavations.

Cotton Sowing Starts in Turkmenistan

An important agricultural campaign – cotton sowing – has started in the country. In accordance with the schedule approved at the sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers on March 15, cotton growers in the Ahal, Balkan, Lebap and Mary velayats began sowing on March 20. Farmers of the Dashoguz velayat are to join them on March 27. According to established tradition, the beginning of sowing was blessed by venerable elders. After reading a prayer to the Almighty for the wellbeing and prosperity of the Motherland, the Turkmen people and the head of state, they threw the first cotton seeds into the ground and then gave way to machine operators.

The Most Charming Girl of the Country

The final stage of the competition “The Most Charming Girl – 2024”, the participants of which were students of grades 2–4 of secondary schools of the country, was held at the Watan Cinema and Concert Centre in the capital. The competition among the most charming girls was organised by the Central Council of Magtymguly Youth Organisation together with the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan on the occasion of the National Spring Holiday. The festive creative competition took place in several rounds and fourteen girls who won the capital, velayat and city rounds took part in the finals. It is worth noting that this year there are more participants: for the first time, two representatives from the city of Arkadag are participating in this competition.

Festive Concert to Mark International Women’s Day

On the eve of the holiday widely celebrated in Turkmenistan – International Women’s Day, a concert of art masters devoted to the glorious daughters of the Motherland was held at the Muqam Palace of the State Cultural Centre. This spring festival is celebrated in our country in accordance with the national traditions, reflecting the respectful attitude of the Turkmen people towards the beautiful half of humanity.

This day was originally called «The working women’s day» but then it is named as «women’s day». This day was first celebrated on 28th February 1909 in New York which was organized by the socialist party of America. Then in 1910, International Women’s Conference was organized in which, socialists were impressed by the American socialists and proposed the establishment of International Women’s day to appreciate the love and sacrifices of the women all over the world. International Women's Day is a public holiday in several countries promoting the achievements of women.

Guidelines for Development and Action Strategy

NT Commentary  A meeting of the Presidium of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan chaired by the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took place in Ashgabat. The priority tasks for achieving the objectives of the Programme of the Socioeconomic Development of Turkmenistan and Investments for 2024 were the focus of attention of the members of the Government, the Mejlis, political parties, public associations and the media. Emphasising that the ambitious tasks had been set for the members of the Halk Maslahaty, the Mejlis and public organisations, who were to achieve the grandiose goals in the interests and for the benefit of the people, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov presented a holistic strategy of actions aimed at achieving the objectives of the Programme in his speech.

Algae as the Basis of the Building Material

In recent years, the in-depth scientific study of raw materials, including aquatic biological resources, has been carried out all over the world. Not so long ago, biological resources of aquatic origin were considered only as raw materials for the production of traditional types of food, fodder and technical products. The results of the study of their composition show that they are sources of various biologically active substances that can be used for the production of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and productivity stimulants for farm animals and plants. In many countries around the world, industrial cultivation of microalgae is carried out in order to obtain biologically active substances. The main object of cultivation is cyanobacteria of the genus Spirulina, which live naturally in many countries, including the territory of our state. Research work on the in-depth study of cyanoprokaryota (cyanobacteria) is underway in the biotechnology laboratory of the Technology Centre of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan. The purpose of the work is both the promising use of cyanoprokaryota in bionanotechnologies on the example of living building material and the identification of their diversity and distribution in the regions of Turkmenistan. President of Turkmenistan Conducts a Working Meeting via the Digital System

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov conducted a working meeting via the digital system with the participation of the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. National Air Carrier Expands the Geography of Flights

On February 16, the first flight took off from the capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, to the city of Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was carried out by the Türkmenhowaýollary Airlines. Passengers of the Boeing 777-200 LR at Jeddah International Airport were warmly greeted by the head of Jedco Airports Group, the head of SGS, which provides ground handling for Saudi aircraft, and the business manager of the United Aviation Company and were cordially congratulated on the establishment of regular air communication from Turkmenistan to Saudi Arabia. Representatives of the Turkmen party expressed gratitude to their Saudi colleagues for the hospitable welcome. In a brief conversation, the parties noted that regular flights would contribute to the development of the interstate relations between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Best Etrap Receives President’s Award

The ceremony of presenting a well-deserved award – a $1 million prize, to the Ak Bugday etrap that won the 2023 competition for the best etrap took place in the Ahal velayat. Members of Mejlis, velayat and etrap people’s councils, public organisations, heads of the National Trade Union Centre, the Central Council of the Women’s Union, velayat and etrap hyakimliks and enterprises, cultural workers, journalists and honourable elders attended the festive event.

Turkmenistan is Among the States Exploring Space

These days, many world agencies, ahead of each other, with the mark “hot news” reported that “Oleg Kononenko set a world record for total time spent in space”, “The Hero of Turkmenistan and Russia set a record for spending time in space”, “A native of Turkmenistan set world record for total stay in space” and the like. Yes, quite many people from different countries have already flown into space, and the fact that a native of Turkmenistan is making his fifth flight and has set a world record of the total stay in space is of the greatest importance for sovereign Turkmenistan. “We in Turkmenistan are proud that our compatriot, born and raised in the ancient Turkmen land, became an outstanding space explorer and reached hitherto unprecedented milestones in his noble profession. Being the first is always honourable and at the same time not easy, since leadership is, first of all, a great responsibility before society, the country, and in your case, before the entire world.” These words, addressed by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the commander of the cosmonaut corps of the Roscosmos State Space Corporation, pilot-cosmonaut, Hero of Turkmenistan O.D. Kononenko, reflect the feelings of all Turkmen citizens and the great importance that we attach to this event.

Following the Traditions of Friendship and Good Neighbourliness

One of the priority vectors of the foreign-policy strategy of neutral Turkmenistan, initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and being successfully implemented by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, is the development of fruitful international cooperation, in which great importance is attached to humanitarian relations. In connection with the current situation in the energy sphere of the Kyrgyz Republic, the President of Turkmenistan issued an order according to which for humanitarian aid, 2 thousand tonnes of liquefied natural gas were sent to the Kyrgyz Republic in February 2024 as a sign of friendship and fraternity. Performing such noble actions is one of the important priorities of our state policy.

Resources for Industry

The oil refining industry is the crucial component of Turkmenistan’s economy. The production of new types of petroleum products, their high quality and outstanding technical and environmental characteristics are and will be a strategic goal for specialists of the Türkmennebit State Concern. Turkmen oil workers take the most responsible approach to their work, fulfilling the tasks assigned to them. In accordance with the Programme of the Development of the Oil and Gas Industry of Turkmenistan until 2030, namely the efficient use of hydrocarbon resources, the deep refining of oil and the manufacture of competitive and eco-friendly petroleum products, work is underway to manufacture high-quality oil and gas chemical products.

Clean Water for People’s Health

Speaking at the recent online government meeting, the velayat hyakims reported to the President of Turkmenistan on the measures taken to ensure the uninterrupted functioning of heating systems in social facilities and to supply electricity, natural gas and drinking water to local populations. In this context, the editorial staff decided to calculate how much human labour and energy resources must be used to support technological equipment and processes and how many hours were spent by complex multi-stage mechanisms and engineering devices so that our homes have clean and safe drinking water. To do this, I had to visit the country’s largest drinking water plant, located in the Ak Bugday etrap, Ahal velayat, that meets the water needs of Ashgabat. The plant was built by Turkish company Polimeks in 2010. Its capacity is 250,000 cubic metres of drinking water a day. Two water plants, including the first facility of that kind with a capacity of 100,000 cubic metres a day, built in previous years, are located nearby. It was built in 1969 and is still in operation. The enhancement of production capacity and the expansion of the administrative boundaries of the capital during the years of independence necessitated the construction of additional water intake and water treatment facilities and the establishment of the Ashgabatvodokanal Trust to manage them in 1995; it was renamed
