The President of Turkmenistan holds session on social and economic development of the country

On January 13, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has held video conference session with participation of some Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of Ahal and Dashoguz Regions as well as the Minister of the Education. Current objectives of further social and economic development of the country and other issues of the state life have been reviewed at the session. First, the floor was given to Governor of Ahal Region Ya. Gurbanov who reported on current situation in the region, care of the winter crops, which is taken according to agricultural standards, preparation of fields and agricultural equipment to spring sowing campaign. The Governor has also informed the Leader of the Nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on activity of relative structures for implementation of National rural program.

The President of Turkmenistan receive the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea

On January 7, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has received new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan Shin Sung-Chul. Presenting his credentials, the diplomat congratulated the Head of the State and people of our country on New Year 2021, which was declared as International Year of Peace and Trust by the special resolution of the UN General Assembly at the initiative of Turkmenistan, as well as conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov from the President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in.

UN Officially Circulates the Ashgabat Final Document among Member States Good news came from New York, where the headquarters of the United Nations is located. The final document of the International Conference entitled “Policy of Neutrality and Its Role in Ensuring International Peace, Security and Sustainable Development”, chaired by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Decem ber 12, 2020, was published in the six official languages of the UN and was officially distributed among the member states.

The Year 2020 — a Significant Milestone in the History of the Country

Time runs fast. So the year 2020 is over. It was the 29th year since the declaration of our independence and the 25th one since the acquisition of the status of permanent neutrality. Though not years, but accomplishments measure the full-blooded life of Turkmenistan as a sovereign neutral state. Having absorbed many significant events, 2020 will also enter another bright page in the country’s chronicle. By these milestones, our descendants and future historians will judge what we have achieved. And I would like to hope that, following the well-known truth “the future is better seen at a distance”, they will appreciate the great achievements of the Era of Might and Happiness of independent neutral Turkmenistan under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Among these events, a special place is occupied by the publication of the book by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Turkmenistan – the Home of Neutrality. The work of the national leader is an important contribution to the study of national origins and the historical significance of Turkmen neutrality as a phenomenon in international relations.

Important Doctrine in the Life of Humankind

In the book of the respected President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov The Spiritual World of the Turkmen People, it is emphasised that “the most important measure of wealth for a person and humanity is peace on earth, a healthy lifestyle and wellbeing. Leading doctrines of peace are based on peaceableness and friendship.” Peace preservation and adherence to the principles of international law, trust, good neighbourliness and friendship are an important component of international documents and national legal systems of the countries of the world. This and also the Resolution “2021 - International Year of Peace and Trust”, adopted at the 106th plenary meeting of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly on the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan, vividly testify to the theoretical and practical significance of these values. Healing New Year’s Fairy Tale Bagabat

Last Sunday, the heads of ministries and sectoral departments paid a visit to the Bagabat sanatorium, located in a gorge at the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains. As it is known, the new health resort opened its doors to vacationers on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the adoption by the UN General Assembly of the Resolution on the status of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in the celebrations on the occasion of the opening of the resort. Bagabat, covered with snow, became a really fabulous palace for holidaymakers on these New Year’s days. In the “blossoming valley”, and this is how the name of the sanatorium and the area is translated from Turkmen language, the trees, covered with hoarfrost, against the background of the majestic snow-capped rocks complement the overall picture, creating a feeling of magic and tranquillity. Around the white-marble building of the health resort, in a landscaped area, there are paths for walking and arbours, over which winter also conjured.

The Winners of Gulbaba Children’s Contest Determined

A solemn ceremony in honour of summing up the results of the state contest for awarding Gulbaba Children’s Prize, annually organised by the Central Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organisation to determine the best of the best children endowed with various talents, was held at the Centre for Public Organisations of Turkmenistan. Despite their young age, all of them, are already making a significant contribution to the development of national culture, art and scientific creativity, increasing the ranks of the intellectual movement of the younger generation of our country. The competition started in late December of the last year, and during the winter school holidays, after a careful selection, a special commission determined the names of the lucky owners of the title of laureates of this grandiose competition out of 183 contenders for the title of winners.

At arm’s length or How Not to Catch ARVI in Crowded Places

Many will want to be “recharged” with a good mood and feel the “touch” of a fairy tale, taking a walk through decorated parks or “visiting” the main New Year tree. However, in order not to find yourself in a hospital bed during the period of acute respiratory infections (ARVIs), a number of recommendations must be followed. In addition, they include behaviour in public places. During the winter months, in crowded places, you will definitely meet those who cough and sneeze. The cold season is particularly the time when you can catch ARVI most often. Therefore, in order not to get sick, you should avoid public spaces. If you do decide to visit a crowded place, try not to be close to other people. Keep a distance of two metres – no closer than arm’s length.

Joint session of the Cabinet of Ministers and State Security Council of Turkmenistan

On December 30, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has held last in this year joint session of the Cabinet of Ministers and State Security Council in the Ruhiyet Palace. The Triumph of Society-Oriented Policy of the National Leader

In our country, people are proclaimed the highest value of the state and society. In this regard, a key priority of the policy of Turkmenistan is to ensure a free, happy and dignified life for the Turkmen people, which reflects the motto of the leader of the nation “The state is for the people!” The state social policy is aimed at meeting the material and spiritual needs of people, creating conditions conducive to self-realisation of the citizens of the country and therefore at strengthening social justice and maintaining social stability. In the first half of the year, the average monthly salaries at large and medium-sized enterprises throughout the country were 10.5 percent higher as compared with the same period of 2019. The Innovative Strategy: Results and Prospects

The year 2020 under the motto “Turkmenistan – the Home of Neutrality” has gone down in the history of the country with the outstanding achievements of the Turkmen state both inside the country and on the international arena. Despite the difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has led to a drop in production and complicated the financial and credit policy and the socio-political situation in many countries of the world, our country, headed by the leader of the nation, demonstrates dynamic economic growth and new achievements in the social and humanitarian sphere.
