The pride in independence

It's been 33 years since Turkmenistan got the independence our people dreamed of for many centuries. Festive events are widely held in all corners of the country on the occasion of this remarkable holiday. The achievements of the nation in all fields excite the whole world thanks to the great concern of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the revival of the new epoch of the powerful state. Thus, independence means the right to use the national language, flag and the Constitution of Turkmenistan, the main symbols of an independent country, and to cherish history, culture and traditions of the Turkmen people. All these values our compatriots have preserved and brought to nowadays.

Halk Maslahaty expresses the interests of people

The meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan was held at the Maslahat Palace in Ashgabat under the chairmanship of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on September 24. The agenda of the nationwide forum, which was held on the eve of the glorious holiday – the 33rd anniversary of independence of our beloved Motherland, included important issues aimed at ensuring the happy and prosperous life of the people, and the progress of the country on the path of development and prosperity. The holding of this public event has become a noble tradition. It focuses on the wellbeing of our country and provokes pride of our compatriots. According to Article 3 of the Constitution of Turkmenistan, the people exercise the sovereignty of Turkmenistan, and the people are the only source of the state power. The people of Turkmenistan exercise their power directly or through representative institutions. This means that the fundamental principle of establishing the rule of law is enshrined in the Constitution of the country. The Halk Maslahaty ensures the principles of humanism and justice, which go back to the democratic traditions of the Turkmen people, in the new historic conditions.
