President Gurbanguly BERDIMUHAMEDOV: Turkmenistan is successfully forming high-tech industrial clusters

The Head of State Launches the Construction of New Wells in the Giant Gas Field Galkynyş and a New Facility in the Mary Velayat During his working trip to the Mary velayat, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the largest gas field Galkynyş, where, in the context of the events held throughout the country to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, he launched the construction of new wells and also took part in the ceremony of laying the foundation of a facility for holding mass celebrations at the building “Türkmeniň ak öýi” in the administrative centre of the region.

Turkmenistan – a Country of Peacemaking

The events of the past week reflected the main priorities of the policy pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov – strategic partnership for the sake of world peace, the socioeconomic prosperity of the Motherland and the enhancement of the welfare of the Turkmen people. The opening of new important facilities on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the sacred independence was an eloquent confirmation of the steady progress of Turkmenistan to new heights of progress. On August 11, the national leader took part in the opening of a new military unit of the Naval Forces of the country and a complex of buildings of the frontier post of the State Frontier Service.

Social Politics in the context of Sustainable Development Goals

The socioeconomic development of the country, carried out under the leadership of highly respected President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, is focused on creating a powerful and prosperous state. The implementation of the Programme of the President of Turkmenistan of the socioeconomic development of the country for 2019–2025 sets goals and objectives before the country directed at the transition to a trajectory of sustainable and balanced growth through modernisation, transition to the innovative stage of economic development and the creation of the corresponding infrastructure of an industrial society. A solid foundation for pursuing an active and effective social policy is being created in the country, which is the main prerequisite for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in Turkmenistan. What is at issue is such important aspects as ensuring food security and improving nutrition of the population, widely adopting a healthy lifestyle, ensuring full gender equality and creating conditions for inclusive, fair and high-quality education.

Investing in youth investing in a happy future

On the eve of the International Youth Day, which is celebrated on August 12, the online seminar "Peace, Trust, Youth - Towards the Full Realization of the Potential of Adolescents and Youth" was completed in Turkmenistan. Turkmen diplomacy, the way to co-operation with the world

Turkmenistan follows peaceful foreign policy, builds its relations with other states on the principles of equality of rights, mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs of other states. Turkmenistan does not participate in military alliances, interstate associations with collective obligations or responsibilities of the parties. We can see these main principles in the Foreign Policy Conception of Neutral Turkmenistan for 2017 — 2023. Neutrality status of Turkmenistan made it a very active participant of international affairs since its very first years of Independency. Turkmenistan was accepted as a member of the United Nations in 1992. In 1995, Turkmenistan was recognized as a permanently neutral country. Positive Neutral status of Turkmenistan has provided vast possibilities to create good co-operation in the region. The establishment of United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy in Central Asia in Ashgabat can be given as a positive outcome of the neutrality policy.
