The President of Turkmenistan received the head of the Turkmen-Austrian Society

On May 14, 2024, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the head of the Turkmen-Austrian Society Neda Berger, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in cultural events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Turkmen poet and thinker, the internationally recognized classic of Eastern literature Magtymguly Fragi. Welcoming the guest to the ancient and hospitable Turkmen land, the head of state expressed confidence that the results of the current visit will be an important step in expanding the partnership between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Austria.

On May 14, 2024, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the Chairman of the Japanese-Turkmen Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Toshiaki Endo. Member of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament, Ayano Sato, also took part in the meeting. Expressing deep gratitude for his time, Toshiaki Endo conveyed greetings and best wishes to Arkadag from Emperor Naruhito and Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida, emphasizing the great personal contribution of the National Leader of the Turkmen people to the development of bilateral relations, which have received in recent years qualitatively new dynamics.

The Goal of the Forum in Turkmenistan is Interstate Coordination of Railway Transport

The XXXVIII Meeting of the Railway General Directors Conference of the member states of the Organisation for Cooperation between Railways (OSJD) was held in the Turkmen capital. The representative Forum, held at the Ýyldyz Hotel, was attended by heads and specialists of relevant departments and railway administrations from more than 20 OSJD Member States, including Turkmenistan.

Global Support for the Wellbeing of Humankind

The UN News Centre has recently notified the world community about an important initiative of Turkmenistan, which received unanimous approval during the 63rd plenary meeting of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly. The UN General Assembly by consensus adopted the Resolution “2025 – International Year of Peace and Trust”, proposed by Turkmenistan. The document was co-authored by 86 states. This document reflects the fundamental goals and principles of the UN Charter, in particular the obligations to resolve disputes by peaceful means and methods. The Resolution also provides a mechanism for attracting voluntary contributions to the Trust Fund for the International Year, with organisational matters entrusted to the UNESCO and UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs.

The subject of discussion was issues related to the current conditions and promising areas of bilateral cooperation. Today, a telephone conversation took place between the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The meeting of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS)

Today, the 15th meeting of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held in the capital under the chairmanship of National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, member of the Council of Elders of the OTS Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. As known, since 2021 our country has the status of an observer in OTS. The organization of the regular meeting of the Council of Elders, which is an advisory body of the Organization of Turkic States, in Ashgabat, testifies to an active position of Turkmenistan in issues of development of multiplane constructive cooperation in the OTS format. Turkmen people share commonalities, which have been developed by centuries of historical roots, cultural and spiritual traditions, which find their new view in the present period with peoples of countries-participants of the given Organization.

On March 5, 2024, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with the Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Helga Schmid. The head of state emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to consolidating efforts to ensure peace, security and sustainable development on the planet, whose foreign policy is based on the principles of positive neutrality. In this regard, one of the priorities is to strengthen interaction with major international organizations such as the OSCE.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited an exhibition of Afghan goods in the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. During the inspection, Arkadag focused his attention on the stands of Afghan companies involved in the extraction and industrial processing of stones used in construction. In this regard, the readiness of the Turkmen side to consider issues related to the participation of Afghan companies in the construction of the second stage of the city of Arkadag was indicated.
