Egypt to Host 2023 World Sambo Championships, Dominican Republic to Host 2023 World Beach Sambo Championships

«Türkmenistan Sport», № 4 (16), 2022 The competitions of the strongest sambists of the planet will be held in this country on November 10-12. This decision was adopted by the Executive Board of the International Sambo Federation. The Dominican Republic will host the World Beach Sambo Championships in August. Also, the decisions on the date and place of other competitions were adopted. According to the draft international calendar, the Asian and Oceania Beach Sambo Championships, which will be held in Bahrain in February, will open the year.

Turkmenistan after 27 years

«Türkmenistan Sport», № 4 (16), 2022 A historic event in the history of Turkmen sports took place at the 47th World Sambo Championships in Bishkek. After 27 years, a representative of Turkmenistan won the world champion title among men in this sport. This remarkable achievement was gained in the under 64 kg category by a serviceman from Malikguly Berdimuhamedov military unit 1001 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Master of Sports from Ashgabat Muhammet Kossekov.

World Youth, Junior and Cadets Sambo championships in Yerevan

«Türkmenistan Sport», № 4 (16), 2022 The World Youth, Junior and Cadets Sambo Championships were held in Yerevan from 14 to 16 October. For 3 days, cadets, youth and juniors from 23 countries fought for the right to stand on the podium in Armenia. In total, about 500 athletes took part in the major continental sambo tournament.

Referee from Indonesia receives FIAS Porcelain Whistle

«Türkmenistan Sport», № 4 (16), 2022 The solemn award ceremony of the FIAS Porcelain Whistle to the best referee of the year took place on November 13 as part of the World SAMBO Championships 2022, which was held in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan). By the decision of the Technical Commission of the International Sambo Federation, Maria Stella Rosario from Indonesia received this award.

A harbinger of peace

Turkmenistan considers sports as an indispensable tool for educating the younger generations that adhere to the principles of a healthy lifestyle. Sports are a priority of the peace-loving policy and diplomacy of our independent, permanently neutral country. The V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games held in the Turkmen capital in 2017, the 2018 World Weightlifting Championships organised in our country and the 2018 Amul – Hazar international rally became clear signs of the worthy implementation of this diplomacy. These sports events made Turkmenistan known as a sports power. As is known, previously impossible modes of sports have been widely promoted in Turkmenistan. These sports include, first, figure skating and ice hockey. The winter sports complexes built and put into operation in the Turkmen capital and the Avaza National Tourist Zone serve as important facilities for doing these sports.

Rejepbay Rejepov wins world weightlifting vice-champion title

"7/24. tm", № 51 (134) On the eve of the International Day of Neutrality, Rejepbay Rejepov from Turkmenistan won the world weightlifting vice-champion title, taking one gold and two silver medals at the World Championships in Bogotá, Colombia. The 30-year-old Honoured Master of Sports gained this achievement in the under 81 kg category, competing with 29 athletes from 23 countries.

Winners receive the trophy

The awarding ceremony for the youth team of Altyn Asyr FC, the winner of the Youth Football Championship of Turkmenistan, was held. The event was organised at the Sports Complex in the Turkmen capital after the 14th leg of the Championship. Berdimyrat Nurmyradov, the head of the technical department of the Football Federation of Turkmenistan, presented the trophy to the team that won the competition after the 12th leg. Team captain Resul Rovshenmyradov lifted the cup, reflecting the excitement of the youth team of Altyn Asyr FC after the victory in the Championship.

Ahal FC is the champion

The winner and the runner-up became known in the 25th leg of the Football Championship of Turkmenistan. Thus, Ahal FC won the trophy. In the 25th leg of the Championship, Ahal FC defeated Shagadam FC in away match with a score 4:2 and won the Football Championship of Turkmenistan three legs before the end of the season. Didar Durdyev (11 (pen.), 17), Ata Geldiyev (29), Arslan Amanov (90+3 (pen.) scored goals for Ahal FC in the match for the Championship. Mekan Ashyrov (2, 16 (pen.) scored for Shagadam FC. Ahal FC scored 66 points after this victory.
