The path to the Olympic success

The sports policy of the President of Turkmenistan conquers the world The world history demonstrates that sport has a very important role to play in international cooperation. Its importance in attracting people to a healthy lifestyle reveals the value of the sports development at the national level. It should be noted that the Turkmen leader has identified the work on the sports development as a priority of the state policy since the first days in the office. The personal example of the President of Turkmenistan has become a guideline for our compatriots and an important step in achieving the wellness, physical activeness and mental health of people. The stadiums, sports complexes, and training centres were built at the initiative of the Turkmen leader and provided excellent opportunities for people in this area. To date, these magnificent buildings and complexes have become the most crowded places thanks to the concern of the President of Turkmenistan, who reiterates that people should be active at any age. These measures resulted in the development of professional sport in our country, since these perfect conditions inspire our compatriots to do sports at a professional level.

Sport for everyone

The concern for the younger generation to grow up to be physically and mentally strong is a priority of the state policy. In this context, great work is underway to develop the mass sports movement in our country. Construction of the healthcare institutions and sports facilities is intensified in Turkmenistan. The tasks aimed at promoting the principles of a healthy lifestyle, at supporting sport and at educating young people to become eminent persons are reflected in the national legislation. The Law of Turkmenistan on Physical Culture and Sports was adopted to strengthen the health of people, to increase the life expectancy in our country, to integrate a healthy lifestyle into the daily life of our society, and to prevent infectious and non-infectious diseases. The Law focuses on educating people to follow the principles of a healthy lifestyle, on avoiding bad habits, and on building an active life in the Turkmen society, starting from childhood.

Turkmenistan and United Nations strengthening cooperation in the field of youth policy

In this regard, the first meeting of the Steering Committee of this programme was held in an online format.

Our beloved Motherland widely celebrates the 30th anniversary of independence in the year, which is being held under the motto ‘Turkmenistan – the Home of Peace and Trust’. In short period, Turkmenistan has gained worldwide recognition for the rapid development. During the years of independence, great progress has been made in all spheres. Thus, the slogan by the Turkmen leader ‘the State is for People!’ has an important role in the policy aimed at developing social-oriented spheres, including in sports. To date, the Turkmen athletes and our compatriots who do physical culture and sports have received a great gift for the 30th anniversary of independence. As is known, the concern for people is a priority of the state policy put forward by the President of Turkmenistan. In this context, it should be noted that the mass physical culture and health movement is growing rapidly in Turkmenistan every year. The Turkmen people say ‘my health is my wealth’. This popular wisdom has special significance in the epoch of might and happiness. The large-scale transformations have resulted in new sports facilities built in the capital and regions, as well as in the reconstruction of the existing sports complexes in our country.

Independence inspires our hearts

Our country celebrates the 30th anniversary of independence under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan. As is known, our country has reached an outstanding development in this short period. Independence raises the spirits of our people who work diligently to develop our country and to implement the national programmes. An outstanding development

The honour and respect for the Ahalteke horses are known all over the world thanks to the concern of the President of Turkmenistan in the epoch of might and happiness. Turkmen Horse Day is widely celebrated on the last Sunday in April every year. The Turkmen leader noted, ‘We will never relax the attention to our horses, as they are our pride and glory, our inspiration. Born on the Turkmen land, the Ahalteke horse is a symbol of strength, health and beauty created by nature and developed by the labour and talent of people.’ These words of the President of Turkmenistan demonstrate the attitude of the Turkmen people to their wonderful horses.

The upbringing of young generation has been a major issue of the Turkmen people at all times, because well-educated, self-confident children have supported their relatives and enhanced the glory of the Motherland and the dignity of the nation. Our ancestors have created a unique school of national education by passing on the national values, traditions, and customs to the future generations. The lessons of that school have been taught in every home. To date, the important educational issues are to bring up the youth on the basis of the national spiritual values of the Turkmen people, to make them proud of our permanently neutral Motherland and faithful to the society, to teach them to be diligent, hard-working, innovative, and developed. Because today’s younger generations are the future of Turkmenistan. At the end of the day, the development of our country and the health of our society will largely depend on the upbringing of the youth.

Young people living in the epoch of happiness

Educating an inspiring, highly moral and skilful young generation is one of the strategic tasks of the state development clearly defined by the President of Turkmenistan in the epoch of might and happiness. The main goals of the state programmes are to ensure the legal and social protection of young people, to promote the spiritual, moral and cultural values inherent in the Turkmen people and the principles of a healthy lifestyle, to cultivate patriotic, humanitarian feelings and civic responsibility, and to support their initiatives. For successful implementation of these goals, the State Programme on the State Youth Policy for 2021–2025 was adopted in Turkmenistan in January this year. Specific measures are provided in the Programme to educate people who are physically and mentally developed and healthy, who respect the history, culture, traditions, and family values of the Turkmen people.

Have a safe travel!

The month under the motto ‘Road Safety – Peace of Our Life’ is held on the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan in September every year, and has great importance in preventing the road accidents in our country. Thus, Turkmenistan attaches great significance to the road safety month on the eve of the 30th anniversary of independence. The officials explain the laws on road safety to our compatriots at the numerous public awareness events at the enterprises, schools and kindergartens. Promotional and explanatory work is very important in ensuring the traffic safety and in increasing the awareness of pedestrians and drivers about the road regulations.

The collective lesson given by the President of Turkmenistan on September 1, Knowledge and Student Youth Day, has become a historic event on the eve of the new academic year and of the glorious 30th anniversary of independence in the year, which is being held under the motto ‘Turkmenistan – the Home of Peace and Trust’. Thus, the collective lesson on the history of our country, the duties and responsibilities of the younger generation has become a great school both for young people, and for every citizen, including in the employees of the scientific and educational system. The Turkmen people have realized this fact in the epoch of might and happiness. It is an opportunity to create, to build, and to beautify the human life, to develop and transform the country. This fact is evident when people understand the profound meaning of the speech of the Turkmen leader at the historic meeting with students and schoolchildren. Thanks to this speech, our compatriots have once again realized that one of the main goals of the President of Turkmenistan is to make the life of young people who are the future of our Motherland more beautiful.

Horse is pride of our people

Last weekend, the Turkmen leader took a bicycle ride in the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains. During the bicycle ride, the President of Turkmenistan admired the natural uniqueness of the place, the beauty of the foothills and the magnificent white-marble buildings in Ashgabat, which is on the path to harmonious development. Later on, the Turkmen leader arrived to the Ahalteke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan, and according to the developed good tradition, visited the heavenly horses and rode on a horse named Akyol.

Sport and education. These concepts are closely linked because a physically and mentally healthy person, who follows the principles of a healthy lifestyle, is able to plunge deeper into the world of knowledge. Physically and mentally healthy people have always been the decoration of any society. They make life more beautiful and inspire the society to make achievements. The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted, ‘a person feels happy in a place where science, education, sport, health and spirituality are in harmony with society’. People emphasize with pride that this harmony is characteristic to the independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan under the Turkmen leader in the epoch of might and happiness. Knowledge and Student Youth Day celebrations were notable for eventful programme. Thanks to the concern of the Turkmen leader, the dreams of generations are realized. It should be noted that ample opportunities were created for young people to receive education meeting the world standards. Educational process is conducted according to the national traditions with the important role played by modern technologies.
