The working visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the United Arab Emirates has ended

On December 2, 2023, late in the evening, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s working visit to the United Arab Emirates, where the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-28) is taking place, ended. The state and prospects for building up the Turkmen-Emirati interstate dialogue were discussed during the meeting of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who is taking part in the COP28 climate conference in Dubai, and the Vice-President, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Affairs of the Office of the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

On November 29, 2023, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received a Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Vice-Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Ding Xuexiang, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the 6th meeting of the Turkmen-Chinese intergovernmental cooperation committee. The President of Turkmenistan received the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan

On November 28, 2023, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov, who arrived in Ashgabat at the head of a representative delegation to participate in the 7th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani Commission on Economic Cooperation. Universal energy access

One of the major components of the SDGs is Goal 7: Affordable and clean energy. Turkmenistan aims its energy policy at ensuring reliable and stable transit of energy to consumers and building up the export potential. The country is implementing the strategy of the progressive development of production and technical capacities of the power industry oriented towards the high rates of dynamical economic growth. The guideline used to develop this sector is the application of advanced technologies, highly efficient and reliable equipment and automated control systems. The country is implementing the National Renewable Energy Strategy until 2030, the Programme on Energy Diplomacy for 2021–2025 and the Energy Efficiency Programme for 2018–2024, aimed at promoting and efficiently using renewable energy sources, increasing the role of alternative energy sources and intensifying energy cooperation between Turkmenistan and international organisations.

The President of Turkmenistan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia

On November 22, 2023, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to Turkmenistan Mohd Suhaimi Bin Ahmad Tajuddin. Presenting his credentials, the diplomat conveyed warm greetings to the head of the Turkmen state from the Supreme Head of Malaysia Abdullah R’iayatuddin Al-Mustafa Bill and Prime Minister Anwar bin Ibrahim, who emphasized the special importance attached to strengthening the ties of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmenistan, which is confidently following the path of sovereign development.

The head of Turkmenistan took part in the Summit of Heads of State of the ECO

On November 9, 2023, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the 16th Summit of the Council of Heads of Countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO). The Summit held in Tashkent under the motto “Together for economic stability and development” was attended by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Ebrahim-Raisi, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, Acting Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Anwaar ul-Haq Kakar. The Summit was also attended by ECO Secretary General Khusrav Noziri.

Transport Integration: Uniting the Space of Eurasia

The Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, held in Beijing, became an extremely topical and large-scale event. Representatives of more than 140 countries and 30 authoritative organisations and about 100 media representatives from 73 countries came to the Forum. In total, the number of guests exceeded 4 thousand people. On the side-lines of the Forum, three high-level subforums on the development of transport communications, environmental projects and the digital economy were held, and six conferences, the topics of which covered foreign trade relations, cultural and humanitarian ties and issues related to interaction among think tanks, the promotion of interregional cooperation and maritime projects, a large meeting of representatives of the business community and a media forum under the slogan “Strengthening media cooperation for a bright future” took place.

Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov left on a working visit to the Kyrgyz Republic to participate in the next meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States. The head of Turkmenistan was seen off by officials at the international airport of the capital.

On September 25, 2023, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Governor of the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation Igor Babushkin. The head of one the largest region of Russia warmly congratulated the head of state on his birthday and national holiday - the 32nd anniversary of the Independence of Turkmenistan. As I. Foreign-Policy Initiatives Help Consolidate Efforts

Implementing the principles of peacefulness and the policy of permanent neutrality, Turkmenistan actively puts forward more and more topical international initiatives within the framework of the prevailing realities. Conference “the Caspian Sea – the Sea of Peace and Friendship” is Held in Turkmenistan

A significant date – the Day of the Caspian Sea – was solemnly celebrated on the picturesque coast of the Avaza national tourism zone. This international holiday is held annually on the day of entry into force of the Framework Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Caspian Sea (Tehran Convention), which was signed by all coastal countries, including Turkmenistan. This year, held under the motto “Happy Youth with Arkadag Serdar”, marks 20 years since the signing of this document, which increased the significance of current events, becoming another call for intensifying efforts to ensure the environmental wellbeing of the Caspian Sea, globally significant for all humankind.
