The ocean of wisdom

Impressive great work is underway to study and promote the rich literary heritage of Magtymguly Pyragy, which has become a treasure of humanity, in the revival of the new epoch of the powerful state. The great literary works by the thinker promoting humanism, honesty, and unity were translated into many languages of the world. The poems and manuscripts by Magtymguly Pyragy entered the UNESCO's Memory of the World Register, and the 300th anniversary of the birthday of the poet was included in the list of memorable dates in the celebration of UNESCO for 2024–2025. These facts indicate the significance of the thoughts and humanistic views of the poet at the international level.

New edition in the Turkish language

A presentation ceremony of the Turkish edition of the book ‘Ýaşlar – Watanyň daýanjy’ by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has been recently held in the Presidential Library, located in the Presidential Complex in the Republic of Türkiye. A short movie about the achievements of Turkmenistan in the years of independence, the rich history and culture of the Turkmen people were shown at the beginning of the event, which was also dedicated to the year ‘Ocean of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy’.

Brilliant literary work

Books represent an eternal bridge that provides powerful connections between the past, present and future. The book ‘Anau – Culture Originated from the Millennia’ by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov gave a reason to think so. The introduction to the book provides information about the unique historical and cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, the implementation of the state programmes in this field, effective cooperation with foreign partners, including prestigious international organizations and leading scientific centres of many other countries. In this context, special attention is attached to the long-term experience and achievements in cooperation with UNESCO, a large specialized agency of the United Nations, as well as TURKSOY. The literary work reflects the views of the author in three chapters.

Admiration for the glorious year

The great poet and thinker Magtymguly Pyragy vividly expressed the beautiful nature of the Turkmen land and its plains, as well as the patriotism, mutual respect, love, harmonious, peaceful, prosperous life and sovereignty of the Turkmen people in his wonderful poems. To date, the name of Magtymguly Pyragy has become more popular. Amazing works by the great thinker are published in different languages. The literary heritage of the poet deserved a special place among the creativity of great scientists and thinkers such as Ferdowsi, Dehlawi, Rumi, Nizami, and Nava'i. Their works formed the foundation of the world culture. In the year ‘Ocean of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy’, festive events are held in all corners of Turkmenistan and in foreign countries to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker. The main goal of these events is to promote the literary heritage of Magtymguly Pyragy, to attract the international scientific and literary community to the philosophical world of the classical Turkmen poet.

On the eve of the international tournament

Turkmenistan is preparing to host a prestigious global sports event. In a few days, on April 15–20, the international ice hockey tournament will be held in Ashgabat. According to the Decree signed by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on March 1, the State Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan will organize this event in cooperation with the relevant ministries and departments of the country. The Decree launched the work on holding the international tournament at a high level. Thus, the activities are defined in detail, and effective measures are underway to implement them.

‘I feel proud when I see you...’

Each nation has its pride and values that decorate the multiply pages of history. The ancestors of the Turkmen people created the rich cultural heritage, including in the epics ‘Oguznama’, ‘Gorkut Ata’, ‘Gorogly’, fine carpets, thick felt mats, embroidery, dutars, kushtdepdi dance, wedding traditions, and dogs thanks to their wisdom, talent and experience. The Ahalteke horse is one of the most glorious values. The love of the Turkmen people for their horses dates back to the past. They created such proverbs as ‘when you wake up in the morning, see your father first, and then see your horse’, ‘horse gives wings’. Thanks to the true love and passion, the Turkmen people bred the Ahalteke horses, which were described as ‘celestial horses’ in the works by the ancient Greek historians.

Sports is the call to health

Development of the mass physical culture and sports movement, its promotion among people of all ages, adherence to the principles of a healthy lifestyle are the priorities of the state policy in our beloved Motherland. The final stages of the XIII tournament ‘Turkmenistan – the Home of Health and Inspiration’ in March-April of the year ‘Ocean of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy’ vividly demonstrated this fact. At the tournament, our compatriots who work at the ministries, departments, military and law enforcement agencies of the country competed in volleyball, basketball, athletics, swimming, tennis, table tennis, chess, judo, national wrestling, sambo wrestling, freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling and boxing. The competitions took place in the modern sports facilities in Ashgabat and increased the number of the sports-loving people.

The successful implementation of the future-oriented policies was confirmed once again by the recent visit of the youth delegation of Turkmenistan to the Republic of India. As part of the introductory visit of the youth delegations of the Central Asian countries to the Republic of India, the youth delegation of Turkmenistan made a 10-day journey to the Republic of India in March 2024 at the invitation of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the Government of India.

One of the most amazing wonders of spring is the flowering of plants and trees. After the cold and barren winter, the earth is covered with a carpet of green grass, dotted with colorful flowers of various shapes and sizes. The frozen earth wakes up and gives birth to young and fresh trees, signalling the awakening of dormant life. School and college children are given spring holidays to take time off their studies and enjoy time with friends and family.
