President of Turkmenistan left for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on a working visit

Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov left for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a working visit to participate in the Summit of heads of member states of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) and the countries of Central Asia. The Summit to be held the city of Jidda is called to promote further development of effective interstate and inter-regional cooperation, which are equitable to interests of general well-being and progress. Officials saw off the President of Turkmenistan at the international airport of Ashgabat. In the conversation of the head of the state with the representative of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia taken place before his departure in the air harbour an invariably friendly character of mutual relations dynamically developing in all areas was stated. A great significance is given to fruitful cultural-humanitarian contacts along with mutually beneficial trade and economic relations. Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia also structurally co-operate within authoritative international and regional organisations and structures. In the given context, it was hoped that the present visit and participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the Summit in the format GCC+ Central Asia would serve intensification of productive partnership both on a bilateral and multilateral basis.

The President of Turkmenistan received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan

On July 15, 2023, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, who arrived on a visit to the Turkmen capital to participate in bilateral inter-MFA consultations. Expressing sincere gratitude for the time spent, the head of the foreign affairs department of the friendly country conveyed warm greetings from the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, who addressed the wishes of well-being and prosperity to all Turkmen citizens, to the head of state, as well as to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

On July 4, 2023, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the 23rd meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), held via videoconference. The head of the Turkmen state was invited to the meeting in the status of an honored guest, which is a clear confirmation of the steadily growing authority of Turkmenistan on the world stage, as well as its proactive position on topical issues of effective partnership, both in bilateral and multilateral formats.

Today, telephone conversation between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan took place. Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Armenia

The Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Armenia, which were held from May 31 to June 3, were a great success. The programme of the art forum included a concert of Turkmen artists and cultural workers and an exhibition of decorative, applied and fine arts that told guests about the history and centuries-old traditions of the Turkmen people and the achievements of the Motherland in the modern era. The combination of a large-scale cultural forum with the events marking the 300th birth anniversary of the outstanding poet and thinker of the East Magtymguly Pyragy added to the significant role of the Days of Culture. Thanks to the successful continuation by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of the large-scale work launched by the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, independent and neutral Turkmenistan promotes strategic cooperation with the countries of the world. One of the key priorities of the state policy, which contributes to strengthening cultural ties and acquaintance with the traditions and rich historical heritage of different peoples and their modernity is to develop cultural and humanitarian relations among different nations.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Ms. Helga Schmid. Expressing gratitude for finding time for the meeting, Ms. Helga Schmid presented to the President of Turkmenistan the certificate of accession of Arkadag city to the Project “Development of sustainable, green, climate-friendly cities with innovative solutions in the region of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe” and the certificate “EcoPorts”, awarded to the International Sea Port of Turkmenbashy.

— international observers on the elections of deputies of the Mejlis and members of local representative bodies of power The leaders and representatives of the Observation Missions from the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and the Organisation of Turkic States announced their conclusions and assessments at press conferences for national media and foreign news agencies. According to the general opinion of international observers, the elections of deputies of the Mejlis and members of the velayat, etrap and city halk maslahaty and Gengeshes were held in accordance with the current national electoral legislation and generally recognised norms for holding democratic elections. The Observation Missions recognised the elections in Turkmenistan on March 26 as free, open and valid. Press conferences were held at the Garagum Hotel.

Turkmenistan – UN: Constructive Cooperation

The United Nations is an authoritative structure that was established to ensure peace and security on the planet. Among its important tasks are the development of interstate cooperation and aid in building a dialogue among countries. Turkmenistan became a full member of the UN on March 2, 1992. Thirty-one years of constructive cooperation was full of significant events. The recognition by the Community of Nations of Turkmenistan as a permanently neutral state on December 12, 1995 was historic for our people and the entire world. In 2015, the UN reiterated its support for the policy of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan, adopting the Resolution “Permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan” at the 69th session of the UN General Assembly. As part of the implementation of the strategy of the Revival of the New Era of the Powerful State, a new powerful impetus was given to the interaction between Turkmenistan and the UN.
