The head of state meets with deputies of the Mejlis

February 25, the Rukhyet Palace. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has met with the country's parliamentary corps, at which the tasks of National parliament as well as the priority areas of legislative work at the next stage of development of the independent Turkmen state in the era of power and happiness were specified. Prior to the meeting, the head of state has held a session exchanging views with the leaders of the Mejlis, political parties and public organizations on the key tasks of further development of independent neutral Motherland in 2021, the motto of which is "Turkmenistan – Home of Peace and Trust."

The President of Turkmenistan holds session on preparation to celebration of the 140th anniversary of Ashgabat and development of the capital

February 24, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has visited the city administration of the capital where he held the session dedicated to preparation to the celebration of the 140th anniversary of Ashgabat and its further development as well as checked new project of urban development including relevant engineering, road and transport infrastructures, special features of design of future facilities and development of surrounding territory. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, who is in charge of the capital, has reported on new projects, their implementation, details of decoration of the buildings to be erected as well as their location.

The President of Turkmenistan holds video conference working session

On February 22, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has held video conference working session with participation of some Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, General Director of the State Association «Türkmen atlary», heads of the regions and Ashgabat. Priority subjects of social and economic development of the country, seasonal agricultural works and other important matters of the state life have been reviewed at the session. In the beginning of the session, the head of the state has called head of Ashgabat administration Ya. Gylyjov and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Sh. Durdliliyev who is in charge of the capital.

Peace-building is the basis of the policy of neutral Turkmenistan (2021 Turkmenistan – the homeland of peace and trust)

Turkmenistan pursues foreign policy based on the principles of positive neutrality, peace-loving, open doors, good neighborliness and equal beneficial co-operation with countries of the world. Today, our country closely co-operates with the UN, OSCE, EU, CIS and other authoritative international organizations on pressing issues of international agenda. Under the wise leadership of our esteemed President, Turkmenistan's foreign policy plays an influential role in international relations. Last year our country widely celebrated 25th anniversary of its permanent neutrality. The year 2020 entered in the history of our sovereign as one of the most important date. Co-operation of Turkmenistan with the United Nations Organization is built on the principles of strategic partnership and has received new content at modern time. The United Nations highly value Turkmenistan's political role in the region and the world, which is an authoritative member that plays a weighty and important role. As is known, UN General Assembly adopted relevant Resolutions «On Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan», including the Resolution at its 75th session in December 2020 on «The Role and Importance of a Policy of Neutrality in Maintaining and Strengthening International Peace, Security and Sustainable Development» with the unanimous support of the UN member states. Session of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan

On February 19, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has held regular video conference session of the Cabinet of Ministers where actual issues of the state life as well as drafts of some documents have been reviewed. Coming over to the agenda, the head of the state has given the floor to Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers G. Mushshikov, the vice-premier has reported on the Plan of works and activities in 2021, which has been developed based on the analysis of the outcomes of working sessions on the branches of national economy dedicated to the results of the last year and taking into account the assignments and objectives given by the head of the state.

Extended session of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan

On February 12, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has held an extended session of the Cabinet of Ministers, at which the results of the work of the Government for 2020 and January of this year were reviewed, reports of vice-premiers, number of ministers and heads of the regions were presented. Priority issues of the country's social and economic development were also discussed and key tasks for the sectors of the national economy for the current year were outlined. The leaders of the Mejlis, members of the State Security Council, heads of administrations of the regions, districts and the capital, media, rectors of universities as well as other officials were invited to the meeting.

Extended session of the Cabinet of Ministers and State Security Council of Turkmenistan

On February 11, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has held video conference extended joint session of the Cabinet of Ministers and State Security Council. Heads of ministries and departments, higher educational institutes and mass media, regional and capital’s administrations have been invited. The head of the state has noted that working session with heads of all branches have been held in the last few days. Outcomes of work in the last year have been summed up and organizational measures for elimination of admitted deficiencies have been planned at these sessions.

The President of Turkmenistan holds a meeting on the implementation of the country's foreign policy

On February 9, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has held video conference session where the results of activities on the implementation of the foreign policy course of independent neutral Motherland in 2020 were reviewed and priority tasks for the current year were identified. The meeting was attended by some Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of relevant structures and specialized universities.

Training Seminars Held in the Velayats and the City of Ashgabat in Accordance with the Plan

Within two days, on February 2-3, specialists of the Office of the Central Election Commission for holding elections and referenda in Turkmenistan organised the first setting seminars with members of the halk maslahaty of velayats, etraps and towns and with members of the velayat and Ashgabat city election commissions. The events were organised locally in all velayats and in the capital city within the framework of the Work Plan approved by the Central Election Commission for the preparation and conduct of elections of members of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan. The main task set was to highlight the most important issues on the organisation and conduct of the election campaign.
