A set of different medals

The sports schools play an important role in preparing excellent athletes and masters for the national teams of the country. The sports school 6 implements the active work on selecting, revealing and training talented and promising young athletes. Our students succeed at the international and national events thanks to the instructions of their coaches and teachers who are masters in their fields. The athletes of the sports school coached by the international master of sports Orazmyrat Charyev successfully performed and took the prize-winning places at the Taekwondo Championship of Turkmenistan (ITF). Ysmayyl Taylyev (2 times), Orazmuhammet Hudayberdiyev (40 kg) and Omar Berdimyradov (35 kg) won the single tul events.

SPORTS DIPLOMACY IN ADDRESSING CHALLENGES IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

In today’s world, sport is a significant component of international cooperation that contributes greatly to building trust between nations. In fulfilling the tasks of international relations, the sphere of activity of sports diplomacy focuses on establishing and maintaining contacts among the sports communities of different countries at various levels. A special role in sports diplomacy belongs to the sport of highest achievements. In the current international political environment, sports diplomacy is increasingly characterised as an effective tool of “soft power” that enables the state to fulfil various tasks, including important and complex ones, and solve problems in the international arena. Thanks to the records and achievements of athletes and national teams in international tournaments, the perception and image of a country can change at such an incredible speed that even diplomatic actions are not always able to match. One of the most important tools of sports diplomacy in solving relationship problems is public diplomacy. Honour to the Turkmen Olympians

On July 22, the special ceremony was held for the national team of Turkmenistan participating in the XXXIII Summer Olympics in Paris, the capital of France. The event was organized at the Martial Arts Sports Complex of the Olympic Village in Ashgabat. Many representatives of the sports community, including the members of the State Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan, the National Olympic and Paralympic Committees, the sports federations, public organizations, and students of institutions of higher education greeted the Olympic delegation of Turkmenistan with heavy applause. The delegation consists of 19 people, including six athletes in four sports, namely, judo, weightlifting, swimming, and athletics.

Paris 2024 Olympics: on the eve of a large tournament

As is known, the special ceremony was held for the national team of Turkmenistan participating in the XXXIII Summer Olympics in Paris, the capital of France. Maysa Pardayeva, a student of Turkmen State Institute of Physical Education and Sports and the winner of the Asian Cup and the European Open Championship, will compete in the judo event at the 2024 Olympics. Musa Zhalayev, a student of Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas and the winner of international tournaments, will contend in the swimming event. Serdar Rahimov, a student of Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute and the gold medallist of Dushanbe Grand Slam 2024, will protect the sports prestige of Turkmenistan in the judo event at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Davranbek Hasanbayev, a graduate of Turkmen State Institute of Physical Education and Sports, will compete in the weightlifting event. Aynura Primova, an athlete of the Water Sports Federation of Turkmenistan, will demonstrate her skills in the swimming event. Valentina Meredova, an athlete of the Construction and Architecture Sports Club Economic Department of the Ministry of Construction and Architecture, will compete in the athletics event.

The Turkmen athletes arrive in Paris

On July 23, a special ceremony was held at Paris Charles-de-Gaulle International Airport to welcome the sports delegation of Turkmenistan participating in the XXXIII Summer Olympics. The representatives of the State Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan, the National Olympic Committee, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of France, the organizing committee of the Paris 2024 Olympics, volunteers and other people gathered at the venue. The Turkmen athletes passed by a long line of volunteers holding the national flag of Turkmenistan and received a cordial welcome on the eve of the large sports festival.

The Ceremony of Sending off Athletes to the 2024 Olympics Takes Place in Ashgabat

Celebrations on the occasion of sending off the national team of Turkmenistan to the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games to be held in Paris (France) from July 26 till August 11 took place in the Martial Arts Sports Complex of the Olympic Village in the capital. Held every four years, these large-scale competitions gather the best representatives of the sports world from all parts of the planet. In order to increase the international sports authority of the Motherland in the period of the Revival of the New Era of the Powerful State and for the successful performance of our athletes at the forthcoming Olympiad in Paris, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who is the head of the National Olympic Committee, issued two special resolutions, according to which a programme was developed and an Organising Committee was established to prepare national teams for the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games and the XVII Summer Paralympic Games in the French capital.

Triple Success of Turkmen Football Players

Good news came from the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, where the international football tournament AFL Kids Cup-2024 among children and teenagers ended. Competing in three age groups, Turkmen teams won victories in two competitions and won silver medals in one. Our young compatriots won awards of the highest standard in the age group of athletes born in 2012, where the Batly team distinguished themselves, and in that of sportsmen born in 2014, where the best were the football players of Gökje. In both cases, six teams competed for medals, but it was the Turkmen team that became winners. Moreover, Gökje midfielder Amanmurad Rejepov was recognised as the best player of the tournament.

Double Success of Turkmen Rally Raid Drivers

The Turkmen rally raid drivers achieved great success in the 14th International Silk Road Rally Raid that stretched over 5,000 kilometres from the Russian city of Tomsk to the capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar. Our compatriots, the brothers Shohrat and Merdan Toilyevs won silver medals in the T2 off-road racing class, and Maksatmyrat Danatarov and Didar Orazmedov became bronze medallists in the same class. M. Danatarov and D. Orazmedov from Ashgabat, who represent the team of the Motor Sports Federation of Turkmenistan, completed the eighth stage of the rally raid, which ran about 500 km through the Altai Territory, as winners, and the Toilyev brothers were the second to finish. This speaks of the high professionalism of our rally raid drivers.
